i have solved the problem, i am ashamed to say that it turned out that it was my firwall that was blocking connections from localhost thank all for your responses and help.

Helo list.

i am running kannel 1.3.1 on a debian system.

i have a slight problem running the smsbox with kannel

for some reason when kannel starts up it doesnt open the smsbox-port for listening and doesnt run smsbox either, after i run it manually (smsbox) it seems to come up fine, but when i try to submit an sms through /cgi-bin/sendsms smsbox crashes with the message :

i suspect it is because it cant connect to bearerbox, are tehre any special parameters i need to set in core group except for smsbox-port so bearerbox will open a listening port for smsboxes ?

 

also when i view status.html it shows that there are no boxes connected
