Hi Dirk,

Basically, when you request the PDP context at your mobile, the service
providers SGSN (Serving GPRS Support Node) will perform a DNS lookup for the
requested APN. This returned IP address is the IP address of the GGSN
(Gateway GPRS Support Node) that supports this APN. If their DNS server
cannot resolve the APN, then the service will be rejected - so, you will
need to use an APN that is valid within the network and allows WAP traffic
to the internet.

If the service provider has an APN that allows WAP access to the internet,
then I think that you need to set the APN to the APN given and the homepage
to that of the kannel box.

Hope this helps,
Mark

Subject: Accessing WAP-Gateway via GPRS

Hi all,

I'm trying to access my kannel wap gateway directly via GPRS.
I#ve set up all the needed parameters in my Nokia 8310, but the phone
says accesspoint not valid.

The box ist running and reachable from the internet.
It doesnt seen to be an kannel problem because theres no traffic
coming to the box from the mobile phone.

What do i have to set the access point value to?
IP or valid hostname of the kannelbox didn't work.

Thanks for you help!

Best regards,

Dirk Bernsau
