I've been using the same bt cellnet SIM card in a gsm modem on my development machine for over a year now only to occasionally receive messages. I've moved house recently which meant powering off the modem for a while, other than that it's probably been on consistantly for a year. The sim card is now de-registered, don't know when it happened (could be since the move.) I tried another SIM and the modem works fine.
I've been told that all Pay-as-you-go sim cards are de-registered if no outgoing calls are made but I've certainly not made any calls since I put the SIM in the modem so it seems strange that it's only now stopped working.
Any ideas? + How can I prevent this with a new SIM?
