I want to send MMS messages cross network. I have
two questions which are probably simple to you guys.
1. How do I send the SMS to indicate an MMS
file is waiting on a server. (I am assuming it is similar to wap push)
You construct an MMS notification and send it as the
payload in a Push document to a WAP PPG. Check
the
Kannel archives for discussions/samples on
this.
2. Can I house the MMS file on my web
server to be collected by the handset - assuming the handset has global access
to the internet.
Assuming the WAP gateway you go through for MMS
retrieval has global access to the Internet.
This is not the case for all operators and more and
more seem to be restricting this type of
access
to their own MMSCs.
