Thank you all for your replies, now got the test sms to work I think.
So now I've got myself a wavecom modem it's called: WM14080 and reference is: M1203A-ON
On the kannel website it has a wavecom modem listed as compatible. Does anyone know if this wavecom modem is compatible and if so has anyone already configured it to work? It would be extrememly useful to talk to someone who's already got it working or know how to.
Thanks for any ideas on the configuring of it, obisouly I will try starting with the configuration of the other wavecom modem suggested:
