SMSC can submit a short message to a
Gateway using deliver_sm ( I hope you are clear with this
fact).
SMSC submits a short message to a Gateway using
deliver_sm (normal Short Message not delivery receipt). Within this
deliver_sm SMSC can request registered_delivery. Gateway shall send a deliver_sm
response for above submitted message. But deliver_sm response can not contain
message_id field.
message_id field is the only
field that is used for correlation between submitted request (through
deliver_sm) and delivery receipt.
How do we correlate between short message
submitted using deliver_sm and its delivery receipt.
I hope this make you more clear.
Thanks,
Amit

Subject: RE: [SMPP] correlation btw
deliver_sm and its delivery reciept
still not clear.
can you elaborate a bit more?
Are you talking
about phone sending sm receive notification to SMSC and then SMSC
sending deliver_sm further?
No, My question is how to correlate between
message submitted using deliver_sm and delivery notification received for
it.
Sequence Number is only used for correlation
between request and response not between message and its delivery
notification.
I hope now you got my question.

Every
deliver_sm PDU contains a sequence number field and every deliver_sm_resp
contains the same sequence number.
Does that
answer your question?
What all fields are used for correlation
of messages submitted through deliver_sm and its delivery receipt?
message_id filed in deliver_sm response is not allowed.
Thanks in Advance,
Amit
