Hello All,

I am currently facing the need to establish SMPP connections to another
Mobile Operator as a client (initiate the SMPP BIND operation to the SMPP
server of theirs). This is because they think both operators should share
the responsability on keeping those links available all the time. Basically,
what makes them think this is required, is that in the SMPP protocol, when a
link fails it has to be necessarily reinitiated (restablished) by the client
side. The connection scheme theyre looking for, is to have various
bidirectional links, and that in some of those links we act as a SMPP server
and in the rest to act as a client. Currently, my SMSC does not support to
establish SMPP connections as a client.

Does anybody know if I can use KANNEL to connect to them as an SMPP client,
and then send and receive SMS messages? The messages coming from them to my
subscribers need to be routed to my SMSC for delivery. The messages destined
to their subscribers need to be routed via that same link to their SMSC.

Thanks in advance for your help. Receive my best regards.

Jess Oliden
