I never used a Nokia phone with Kannel (I own a couple of Siemens) but they are usually better supported. Siemens (C60) was very tricky to make it work, but now it works ok.

I'm new to the list and kannel. I would like to set up kannel as an SMSC. For development, I was intending on using a handset (eventually switching to a GSM modem). My service provider has a limited selection of handsets and I'm have a toss up between the Nokia 7210 and the Siemens S55. Are either of these two preferable over the other -- ie reliability, features, ease of use?
