Where I think Alejandro could talk to modem in minicom (because minicom changed
 post settings) but could not talk to modem with kannel. His solution is here:

No, not before starting kannel. I donït know why, but my Zterm settings doesnït 
persist at all. It seems that when kannel inits the serial line, it trashes any 
previous settings. Iïve checked with "stty -f /dev/phone" before and after starting 
kannel and the settings are changed to kannel ones no matter what I do before. 
Obviously, when kannel starts, it locks the serial line so I am not able to run ZTerm 
at all on that line.

What I have to do each time I run kannel is:

1. Start Kannel
2. run "stty -f /dev/phone -crtscts" inmediatly after my startup script returns.

That works perfectly. I think that by now, I will add the stty line on my startup 
script and live with it.
