CDMA is used mostly in the US I believe. I've also heard of it
being used in parts of the former Soviet Union. It's not as open of a
standard as GSM (and I believe its use entails royalty fees), so it's
probably not widely adopted for that reason. Verizon Wireless here in
the US is a CDMA carrier, for example. From a personal standpoint (and
I've implemented both CDMA and GSM SMS and MMS), I much prefer GSM. :)
