    Why would you like to inform the SMSC that you got an SMS? Is
there any other way of getting an SMS which does NOT come from the
SMSC?

    The ESME-SMSC connection is supposed to be reliable. That is why
SMPP is the preferred protocol for this connection. (I think you have
seen lots of control PDUs coming and going). The SMSC-terminal
connection is NOT reliable and that is why there is only one-way
delivery reports.

    Is your SMSC asking you for some kind of report other than the
ones provided at SMPP level???
