Mmm, same port, same IP, same user and same password seems to me as "same connection" :)
 
Anyway, why should you want to do that? Maybe using different system_type for each connection (supposing your fellow SMSC is capable of such a thing, I mean, I've never seen such a setup before) but again, I don't see the purpose of having two otherwise identical connections.
 
What you could have is many connections to the same SMSC using _different_ ports (usually with different username/password but not really neccesary I believe). Some companies use that kind of setup to route MT's with different billing costs or to route different short numbers using separate links.
