Hi Toby,
Yes I am sending content in Nokia Smart messaging format only. Interestingly
it is 66XX series phones that have problem. I have tested it with Nokia
311*, 35**, 9***, 32**, 21**, 11**. Not only that I have tested it on
Motorola c200, Sony Ericsson TXXX series mobile phones without any problem.
While Nokia 6610 was able to receive picture messages from another mobile
phone, it crashed when the message was sent by Kannel. The message was
concatenate message with length of 3 messages.
I think it has something to do with Sender ID being alpha-numeric. Any input
shall be extremely helpful.
regards
shantanu

Subject: RE: Nokia 66xx
I sent across a picture message through kannel on nokia 6610,
and unbelievingly it **Crashed** while all other phones
received it without any problem. It also had some weird
problem of showing message text as sender id if sender id is
alpha-numeric?
However when picture messages were sent through another
mobile phone, it received it without any problem.
Does anybody else share the same experience, or was it I who
was doing something wrong?
I take it that you are sending the message in Nokia picture
message format, rather than by EMS. If you do use EMS to talk
to a Nokia it ought to simply reject it rather than crashing
but I have seen some Nokia's crash more than you might expect.
It would help to know which other phones have you sent the
same picture message to.
Is the picture message contained in a single message or does
the phone need to concatenate multiple messages to receive it?
Yours,
Toby
