hi ,
Your scenario is just to install squid and that all WAP 2.0 clients parse via the proxy . Your concept is ok , only for just redirecting to the internet . But i think you dont consider about how to parse msisdn , session id , ip address ........UA profiles , etc..... to the proxy .
Because most of wap sites are now very intelligent. not just a wap sites. They have done lots of restrictions on their end . That msisdn will be the main parameter.
So that's meant , we supposed to parse that features , after decode it from the radius to the proxy.
I think that kane also has same issue. why can't we get a solution from the kannel expert ?
Kannel would be main sms/wap opnsource project. it's usage is very huge. If kannel users had to face like this issues , what we do ? actually i'm talking about " Kannel user " not any hardcore developers .
Develpoers can do any thing they want with the code .
but then where to users ? Is this such bad a sign in open source concept ?
I just wanted to highly mention you , i dont want to make any troubles with you guys , you are excellent , good and i don't expecting emmediate reply from you . Bcause kannel is not a open source help desk , we agreed.
"But we need a solition" .
Thank you ,
Luke.
Hi,
We use Squid for the WAP2 clients. There is nothing that you have to
do in kannel to get it working. If a phone/browser is WAP2 it will
use HTTP (over TCP) and your device config and Squid setup should just
match. There is nothing special to configure in Squid, you just run
it as a normal proxy...
You have the added benefit, that you can make Kannel use this server as a proxy.
