Hi Luke,
yes, Kannel can (an in fact is used at GSM carriers) as WAP gateway for MMS
traffic towards the MMSC layer.
Kannel does act as WAP 1.2.x gateway, and may be also used by WAP 2.0 compliant
devices, if they can be set to use WAP 1.2 (hence WTP, WSP) traffic via the WAP
gateway. Some phones even use only HTTP proxy'ing (WAP 2.0). In that case you
don't need a generic WAP gateway.
