IF you have SIM cards that have free text messaging attached then you can use them to send free sms and in theory be unlimited – however operators normally have a fair usage clause on the SIMs with unlimited SMS and may turn off the SIM is they think you are abusing the offer. I have to admit though I don’t know if any one has ever tried this and been turned off.
If you want to send 1,000 of messages I would rather recommend signing up with a text message aggregator that is used to sending 1,000’s/millions of text messages. With the aggregators you will end up paying a fee per text message. Dependant on the type of traffic you are planning on sending then the cost per message will vary. If you give me an indication of the type of traffic then I will quite happily give you an indication of the price you can expect to pay in the UK. I am afraid I don’t have much commercial information concerning the rest of the world for SMS delivery.

Can anyone tell me what is the best way to send bulk email messages. Can I used a bank of GSM modems? And if I used SIM cards from an unlimited text message account, can I send 1000s of message? Or do I have to pay a per message fee? Anybody who can answer that will be appreciated. Thanks. |
