Is this happening under heavy load? Cygwin threading is known to cause
a lot of troubles and is not considered production-level ready. The
lesser of your problems will be losing a lot of messages when kannel
is under moderate load.
I'd suggest you to try running a virtual machine (VMWare or any
similar software) with a stripped linux install if you don't want to
fight with cygwin's buggy threads. Your performance will degrade a
little (depending on CPU and memory available) but it will be as
stable as the real thing.
I can confirm this behaviour for Cygwin 1.18 and up. The pthreads support in
Cygwin is really not 100% safe.
Actually I'm aware of this, and planed to forward these issues to Christopher
and Corinna from the core Cygwin team, but never had time for it.
If you feel contributable, please do so.
Hence: Cygwin can't be considered for production systems for Kannel. We relly
heavily on pthreads and those beasts are not stable at Cygwin.
