Did you try with some unix basics? "locate bearerbox" should give you the bearerbox binary location, for instance. If the RPM includes a daemon to be started at boot, check on /etc/rc.d/init.d (for RedHat/CentOS, other distros may have different places for startup processes).
If you find the startup script, it usually shows all you need to know to start the services. Also, if you have the "Midnight Commander" you could try opening the RPM and see where the files are packed inside. Hope it helps. On 10/31/06, Arun Jain <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
Hello group, My Linux version is enterprise version RHEL 3.5.x and I was able to get and install kannel-1.4.0-3.1.el3.rf package. It gave a warning but it did install the package. Following is the verbose message. sudo rpm -ivh kannel-1.4.0-3.1.el3.rf.i386.rpm warning: kannel-1.4.0-3.1.el3.rf.i386.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 6b8d79e6 Preparing... ########################################### [100%] 1:kannel ########################################### [100%] The surprising thing is that I still don't see any directory/file/conf-file/ daemon in init.d directory. I have ran a find command for file/directory name starting from /etc but there is nothing. How do I start my daemon? Where is the conf file? Where is the daemon? Am I missing anything. Please help if anyone knows any thing. Thanks. arun
