does anyone have a clue as to what i probably missed during the installation?
Is this a kannel package from fc5 repository or compiled on your own?
If you compiled on your own, then you obviously wanted libsdb support, and you
did not set the shared library path in /etc/ld.so.conf and re-run /sbin/ldconfig??
Basic linux know-how ;)
