hi there,

Dear kannel experts hi.
We are using a SMPP 3.4 link & want to send sms using
a short code as an originator. E.g. 88123
The problem is that when we set it we get +88123 as
the origininator in the recipient's handset.
I know that this is determined by the
source-addr-npi/ton of the SMPP connection so it is
set accordingly.
The question is that if we will be able to set ton/npi
to not send the + infront of the short code then we
miss the full MSIDSNs like +4477xxxxxx!
Can we set the npi/ton of the message through a URL
GET field in the sendsms script?
Is anyone our there that has solved that by using one
SMPP connection?

i don't set the npi or ton in my configuration files, and whatever i put as the 'from' parameter in my sms push url is what is sent. ie. if i want a full international number i put +61xxxxx but if i want a word like 'My Company' i just put 'My+Company'. if i put 111111 that is how it will come out on the handset!

this may be a difference in the smsc ...

cheers

iain
