Thanks for the reply Peter. 
The reason i don't follow your suggestion is because i have already set-up
the services and it would me more convenient to relay the formatted sms back
to kannel(without cost). A perfect solution would be enabling kannel to
accept ucs2 sms-service keywords, but i don't seem to get that working.
