Hello friends,

I have an HTTP connectivity for sending SMS from some providers in India. Is
there anyway to mask that HTTP account with Kannel so that i can provide
SMPP to my clients.

Hello Jins,

first of all, please don't cross-post to multiple mailing lists. Place your ONE post to the list you think is most relevant.

Now, normal Kannel allows you to use HTTP (among other most used SMSC protocol) towards the SMSC side and abstract via HTTP/1.1 to the application/user side. So, the normal Kannel won't allow you to run a SMPP v3.4 server.

As one of the core developers I provide commercial add-ons, i.e. the Kannel SMPP v3.4 server (smppbox), which allows you to leaveage any bearerbox SMSC client connect up to own SMPP clients, and hence acting as vSMSC via SMPP, realizing this message flow chain:

  SMSC <-SMPP/UCI/HTTP/CIMD/...-> bearerbox <-> smppbox <-SMPP-> clients

where smppbox has a considerable feature set and is used at around 80 sites world-wide. From smaller to one of the biggest SMS aggregators in the world, up to GSM wireless network carriers and inter-carrier messaging.

Stipe
