Kannel can use any of the supported SMSC protocols on the client side, not on
the server side. The server side uses HTTP/1.1 for abstraction purposes.
If you want to provide SMPP accounts to other users, to leverage own SMSC
connections, then you would need the Kannel SMPP v3.4 server (smppbox) that can
do provide SMPP to the server side.
