Hi

I've got a kannel box connected to a siemens GSM modem and I thought it was
working fine until I did a broadcast message to about 1000 recipients.
The message I sent is only 152 characters.

For the 1000 recipients with 152 characters, I got billed for 3000 SMS from
my telco!!!
I assumed that I will be sending only 1000 SMS!!

In addition, there is a problem when receiving the message on the actual
handset. I received first part of the message on one day, and the completed
message on the next day...

When I called up my telco for explanation, they says I sent the messages in
ascii-8-bit format, which has a character limit of 140 characters.
So, if I sent 152 characters, 2 SMS will be delivered. The normal format,
according to Telco, is 7-bit. But why I was billed 3 times??

So, I was wondering where and if I can set Kannel to deliver messages in
7-bit?

HELP!!!!

Peter
