Do Kannel support ordinary pages(like html,asp)..? Would it be routing normal web pages correctly or it deals only *.WML contents..?

The normal Kannel is acting as WAP 1.2.1 gateway. Which means it will transcode and .wml (plain text files) to compiled .wmlc files (binary format) for phones that request such content.

It will also deliver any other MIME-type content, as long as the client has used WTP/WSP request methods and has "announced" to be able to receive such content via WSP Accept headers.

What the normal Kannel is not is a WAP 2.0 compliant gateway for direct HTTP proxying modes. This can be achieved via any HTTP proxy component, i.e. Apache or squid.

For GSM/CDMA operators there is a Kannel CG (carrier-grade) WAP 1.2.1/2.0 gateway, which includes an integrated version with various improvements on load performance and RADIUS accounting proxy techniques for MSISDN and other value provisioning.
