ID> wow, okay so that was easy :) thanks seik and thomas. seik, when you
ID> suggested this i thought i had to do this in conjunction with the sql fix,
ID> i didn't realise that simply calling both the same id would work.

You have to be aware of one thing though, which applies if you use
EMI/UCP. The granularity of UCP timetsamping is only 1 second, and if
you fire many similar messages down your links, you may end up
acknowleding the wrong sends, because in kannel only the smsc-id and
the SENDING number (the originating number to be more precise) is
compared. So if you send everything with th same shortcode, only the
Timestamp and the SMSC-ID are matched, which is a bad thing if oyu
send more than 1 msg/sec. This problem applies to single links as
well, but is multiplied by this dual link setup.

right... okay i'm looking at this page:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EMI_(protocol)

under the heading "alternatives" it says SMPP ... does that mean that since i'm connected via SMPP i don't have to worry about this problem?

thanks
iain

There was a patch on the list a while back which also takes the target
number into account when making comparisons, which alleviates this
problem.
