I had the same problem but different - the user assigned to the device on linux 
kept kannel from being able to access it.

What would be the ideal fix for this?

It basically fills up the hard drive in a few hours.

I think it would be beneficial to have some instructions on how to pipe the 
logs to an app that will keep them down to a reasonable size.

Anyone?

is max-error-count only resets the modem rather than closing the box?

can we do that or make it other name for the config to shut down kannel if we 
cannot detect modem or continuous errors.  I just thought cause I accidentally 
produce a 27G of logs on my modem.log cause we reproduce an automated opening 
of kannel but since like modem is not connected, that its the reason of a 27G 
of log.
