this depends on a lot of factors.
When multiple message are connected (concatinated) a UDH is added to
the message and takes space that you can't use as payload anymore. In
cleartext-sms you loose normaly 8 characters to the UDH, so 152
character per message, at 5 sms that are 760 characters.
But if you send ringtones or EMS this value can differ
