SQLbox is great for 'burst' traffic injection. We use Kannel als a backend
for Paramedic and Firefighter alerts, so most of the time our SMSC links idle,
but in case we need traffic it's spiking. Injecting each message via HTTP would
be feasible, but sqlbox does the job better and with less system load. Imagine
having to inject hundreds of messages within a few seconds, and you see where
sqlbox comes into the game.
