Hi,

This seems to be a legacy RS232 modem. First you have to see it from your OS. 
You can use logs in linux, statserial in solaris or other OS. Try to issue some 
simple AT commands with minicom. If all these succeed just create an smsc group 
for a "virtual smsc" aka a modem. You may get away with kannel's autodetect. If 
you don't you may want to create your new "modems" group describing your modem. 
You can copy entries from modems.conf and change settings according to your own 
modems AT command set.
