Hi,
I was able to connect to the modem using minicom.
at
dev/ttyS0
9600 8N1
But the same configuration is given to kannel.conf
Initiall the log said permission denied for modem error 13
then i did a chmod 777 /dev/ttyS0
Then the log changed to

2009-04-05 04:45:46 [5440] [4] DEBUG: AT2[/dev/ttyS0]: detecting modem type
2009-04-05 04:45:46 [5440] [4] INFO: AT2[/dev/ttyS0]: opening device
2009-04-05 04:45:46 [5440] [4] DEBUG: AT2[/dev/ttyS0]: device opened
2009-04-05 04:45:48 [5382] [6] DEBUG: AT2[/dev/ttyS0]: --> AT^M
Still the status is
SMSC connections:
*unknown* AT2[/dev/ttyS0] (connecting, rcvd 0, sent 0, failed 0,
queued 0 msgs)
