Bulk Wap-Push

I would like to use kannel to send a wap-push message to multiple recipients
(hundreds at a time). To clarify, when I say wap-push I mean a message to
the recipient with a url included. The mechanism would involve a webapp
sending the recipient and message information to kannel (but not as an http
string) and then kannel in turn delivering via it's ppg.  My questions are:
Is this possible and if so, how would the information be delivered to
kannel? Is sqlbox necessary for the transaction?
