in short:
1. check if the package installed is complied with start-stop-daemon option
2. if yes, find where is it and either fix the script either put it in the
proper location ...
3. its not Kannel related issue, it is a box administration issue.
anyway, I paste here comment from alejandro guerrieri:
I'd recommend you to use the --daemonize and --parachute switches to startup
the boxes.
Check on the userguide for further details, but that's the recommended way of
starting the boxes.

Alejandro

I found a script startup and I put it in /etc/init.d/. However, I can't seem to find the start-stop-daemon file when I start the kannel with service kannel start where kannel is my script name.
The following is my output:

Starting bearer service (gateway kannel 1.40): /etc/init.d/kannel: line 41: /usr/sbin/start-stop-daemon: No such file or directory

Starting smsbox service (gateway kannel 1.40): /etc/init.d/kannel: line 46: /usr/sbin/start-stop-daemon: No such file or directory

Please help ... urgent....
