I am actually the author in the quoted thread, and it has been updated since
then...
It is possible to send messages to a mobile at any port desired provided:
1) You use the sendsms kannel interface
2) You provide the appropriate UDH header for the port you would like.
3) Target mobile needs to listen on that port.
