Well, I am using a Wavecom Fastrack 10 modem. Have had no problems, but other people like Alvaro, have more experience than me.

Sorry I should have been more clear, I'm using Ubuntu as my primary box
for this.  I was running everything under windows before and am
migrating to a *nix only shop.   I only mentioned windows because
generally you've an easier time finding drivers for windows than linux
thanks to many HW Manufacturers.
