@kiran: If you want to display text in TV, TV should run some sort of server and provide a protocol for access. Kannel as a client supports specific and limited protocols:

HTTP, SMPP and various other SMSc related. I strongly suspect that an average TV won't talk these, except, maybe, HTTP. Otherwise it is left up to the SMSc to route to TV stations, which they won't.

Now, beyond kannel, you can try to hack your way around through your PC. There are several video PC cards that can output to your TV with a cable. Use a wap or SMS simulator for your PC configured to your kannel, and route that output to your TV. Alternatively you could wait until mobiles with RGB output become available (if they ever do).
