According to their website they work on some versions of linux, but I've
had horrible luck with the Multilink MTCBA-G-U-F4 and that one *should*
have worked under linux as well.  I'm game to try the AirLink but don't
feel like taking the $300 gamble.  If not, what modem do you recommend? 

I'm a little desperate here, and sans nokia phones, what do you guys
recommend?
