Hi all,
I'm using Kannel since some months ago and currently able to send and receive
SMS using either Nokia/Siemens cellphones, GSM modems and african SMSCs. The
point I want to discuss about is regarding GSM modems, about the SIM number
format of the mobile originated SMS. Using a GSM chip of the brand "A" in the
GSM Modem, Kannel receives SMSs showing all the numbers from the cell phone end
user, 12-digits based, like "+5541xxxxxxxxxx" with the country code. Switching
this GSM chip to another one, from the brand "B" (for example), Kannel receives
SMS in a different format, like "041xxxxxxxx", without country code and with
this 0.
Any of you faced similar situation?
It seems to be a specific behavior from the GSM chip, but I'd like to know if
there's a way to determine a mandatory pattern in Kannel, avoiding specific
treatments on the application when handling those messages, for each specific
country.
Thanks in advance!
