Hi,

It seems that your problem is with your CNMI value. This is modem/manufacturer specific. Try the CNMI=0,0,0,0,1 that the modem gives you. If that doesn't work, try some different values, examples can be found in modems.conf. Or run wvdialconf. You can remove CMEE.

BR,
Nikos

Hi,

As Rene stated, ALWAYS post debug level logs to this group. Lastly type
AT+CNMI=? to your modem using minicom or other serial software to see what
modes it supports. Or you can get wvdialconf to get a working init-string.

Nikos

What do you get if you set log-level to 'debug' (0)?
Do you see which command exactly gives the error?

Here, you can find an overview of possibly possible init strings:

Subject: Urgent! HELP!

Hi

I have 3 days trying to resolved this and has even replaced my GSM
modem but still unresolved...

Anyone knows the init-string for the GSM modem MC37i? (cinterion mc37i
or siemens MC37i)

I tried many variations of CMNI=, etc but still couldn't get Kannel to
run smoothly.

This is my latest:
group = modems
id = siemens_m37i
name = "Siemens M37i"
detect-string = "Cinterion"
detect-string2 = "MC37i"
speed= 115200
#init-string = "AT+CNMI=2,0,0,2,1;+CMGF=0;+CMEE=2"
init-string = "AT+CNMI=2,1,0,0,0;+CMEE=2"
enable-hwhs = "AT\\Q3"
#keepalive-cmd = "AT+CBC;+CSQ"

I keep getting this error inj kannel.log
