Please read latest User's guide from svn (or site). There is a section
devoted to modem initialization.
1, 2 & 3 -> User's guide.
4 Check sms-service (ofr receiving) and sendsms-user (for sending) in User's
guide.
5 Read about sms-service in User's guide.
You apparently haven't read a single thing from the user guide, if you are
asking about (1).

hi
i m a totally newbie to kannel and smsc part associated with it and unix
environment i have gone through the user guide provided at kannel.org but to
be very frank it didnt helped me much for my attempt to configure kannel
with nokia n73 phone. it would really be a great help from kannel side if
you could answer my following questions
till now i have compiled the gateway but have got struck at configuration
file :
i am using redhat enterprise edition
1.is there any driver needed for nokia n73 to use it with kannel
2.how can i check to which device my phone is mapped to in dev folder
3.in which mode should i connect nokia n73 to my pc(when i plug in my usb
cable to my pc i get 4 options -mass storage,pc suite,media player,pict
bridge)
4.i want to use kannel for both sending and recieving messages.. which user
group apart from core and smsc should i configure and which options should
i add(user guide didnt helped me much).
5.how my web based application(which i think should be php script or
javascript) will fetch and transfer data to kannel.
it would really be a great help if you could answer my queries in an
elaborated way.
