If phone sports a serial interface most likely yes. You should confirm with
modem manual/manufacturer if it is a GSM modem. Basically *any* serial modem
or phone will work with kannel and the usb as well in supported OS (with
usb-to-serial drivers). People have had goode expereinece with the Wavecom
Fasttrack (serial) and the Huawei E220 (usb).
