That depends on your SMSc agreement. Each account comes with a maximum
throughput. If you get all connections with the same account, no benefit.
Kannel can easily match the maximum throughput specified on any single SMSc.
If you get 3 accounts, then yes.

Do multiple sessions of same LA provide increased speed as well?
Example: I have 3 sessions of one LA with 5 TPS. Does this mean I have
effectively 5x3=15 TPS in total?
Practically, I am not getting the additional speed, with kannel operating at
5 TPS collectively for all sessions.
If the reply to first question is YES, then I fear my kannel config is
incorrect for handling multiple sessions.
