There is nothing you can do for that other than be sure kannel and
your link is up, working, and not overloadad with MTs.

>From the MO point of view, kannel is a server and it is waiting for
MOs. Kannel has no way to "ask" the smsc if  there are MOs pending.

If the delay is in bearerbox in sending them to your app; then that is
another story. You can track this easily comparing your timestamps in
kannel and your app.
