Hi,
A lot of things have changed since 1.2.1. That includes default encoding
from windows-1253 to UTF-8. I know winwap, I have used it extensively. I
have never had any problems with it and kannel. You should do the following:
1) Create a winwap shortcut to the desktop (if you haven't done so already).
2) Right click -> Properties. Append in the shortcut target the switch
/DEBUG
3) Start winwap. Go to Edit -> Options-> Debug. You can now adjust
User-Agent and accept headers.
However, this will not change your encoding. To adjust it go to
View->Encoding. I leave it at Automatic.
If you still get encoding errors post a wireshark dump of the request you
send and a portion of debug wapbox logs, relevant to your error.

Some more details about my problem:
I'm not using a mobile but winwap to do my testing with Kannel which I
know supports ISO8859 (see

When I'm doing my tests with kannel 1.2.1 instead of 1.4.3 I don't have
the problems of encoding that are not supported.
That's why I thought there must be changed something on Kannel since
version 1.2.1 ...
Or am I missing something?

2) None of these responses are kannel's.
3) Page you are downloading is obviously encoded as iso-8859-1. Your
mobile
doesn't support it. Next kannel tries to convert it to UTF-8, but mobile
doesn't support them either. It 's all part of the Accept headers that
your
mobile sends to kannel. Change mobile.
