If you order the SS7 drivers, source codes are included, for your own use.
You can develop what you want.
They are not cheap though.
Another possibility is to sponsor the open source development and drivers
will be submitted to the Kannel community.

They are commercial software, not open source.

I am using asterisk-chan_ss7 for SS7 interconnect with SMSC for our voice
circuit.

No. For that you need SS7 connectivity and kannel doesn't have such drivers.
Besides you would have to have SS7 numbering, lines and HLR, and be a PSP
(phone service provider).
