I don't know what's Dv, but if it helps I'm using an Android based phone (LG GW620) as modem, and I'm able to handle MT and MO with it. The only thing you need from a phone to work with kannel is to support AT commands (which you can test manually before trying with kannel). And for MO the phone must support CNMI AT command.
