Hi We are using Kannel 1.5.0 (from March 2011): BearerBox and SMSbox. They are running on Ubuntu 10.04 which is on a VM Ware virtual machine (1 processor / 1G RAM / 32G HDD) running on Windows 2003 server. DLRs are stored on a SQL server 2005 database on a separate server. This configuration has been running quite happily for several weeks handling several 10,000 SMSs per day.
However, yesterday afternoon the BearerBox shutdown with the following message: Error on row 1 in this fetch batch. We restarted Kannel and after sending about 300 in three minutes it shut down with the same message. The Ubuntu VM has been re-booted and it did the same again after about the same number of messages. Checking the code the error appears to be related to handling DLRs; though I am uncertain whether it is when Kannel is storing the original DLR, or updating one that is already stored. After several hours struggling with it to no result we left it running overnight just receiving DLRs, but not sending SMSs. This morning it was still running and had received and processed several hundred DLRs with apparently no issue. We are checking with our SMPP provider to confirm that nothing strange was happening at their end, but it seems unlikely. Config files and Debug level logs of the final message handling from the BearerBox (the full log is 4.6M in size) are attached. The SMSbox logs don't appear to have anything meaningful: just a report of each message that was handled. Any clues about what is going wrong and what needs to be done to fix it would be most appreciated. Many thanks.
