Hello Daniel, Kannel works well with Nokia 6300 except it does not allow for AT-CNMI notifcation which means with Nokia 6300, kannel can not get notified of incoming SMS. So I will suggest you use something like Sony Ericsson K510 (Which I use anyway) or even a GSM modem like the Huawei E220.
