Eugene, I agree with Simon that your application can also be made to send a 
number of messages per second (I'm testing up to 100sms/s on my dev machine). 
You should tweak the application. 

On a side note, sometimes discussions about how to integrate kannel into an 
application (framework) are a crucial point and important for usecases. For 
instance, by talking about this here, we can easily encourage API builders to 
write plugins that can abstract entire processes for kannel utilization (hence 
the kannel users mailing list).
