There is no standard, everybody has their own application architecture. Just do some stress tests and see which result is the best fit for your situation. It can be only 10 or event 1000 :) Be aware of queue issue, the SMSBox could handle hundreds of MT but it will be useless when the bearerbox speed is limited by telco rules, the higher the queue the higher the resource (hardware, software) will be used. Just be wise I guess.
